Metro Exodus Delayed For PS4, Xbox One, PC

Metro Exodus is described as an epic, story-driven first-person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. That means we'll see an official launch in the January-March time frame.

In its press release, THQ Nordic did not provide a rationale or explanation for why the game was delayed.

What's also interesting here is that Metro Exodus will be one of the first games supporting NVIDIA's real-time ray tracing technology.

THQ didn't give any reason for the delay, although presumably as it's only been punted back a few months it's nothing too seriously. The next entry in the series, Metro Exodus, won't arrive this year.

Artyom and chums are going to stay holed up in the Moscow Metro system for a little longer, as Deep Silver and 4A Games have delayed the game from late in 2018 to Q1 2019 instead. They're a very hard decision to make, but they should mean consumers receive a better game when it does eventually release, and with Metro Exodus looking so promising?

The Metro games are based on a series of novels published by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. The new setting makes for a much larger, open-world experience than 2010's "Metro 2033" or 2013's "Metro: Last Light".

It's unlikely that they'll reveal an actual release date at E3, but then again maybe they will. Revenue for the quarter came in at $72 million, while earnings were $12.2 million, a jump of 236% compared to the same period previous year.

Elsewhere in the report, the publisher confirmed that Deep Silver will be publishing Wasteland 3, and The Bard's Tale 4, both in development at inXile Entertainment.
