Big update in the Nabil Fekir transfer saga

Lyon captain Nabil Fekir has been high on Liverpool's transfer wishlist for months, but Jurgen Klopp's Reds may be made to wait for the 24-year-old's signature.

"Talks with Liverpool will only happen when there is an agreement with Lyon and Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light".

The agent of Liverpool target Nabil Fékir has denied speculation linking his client with a move to Merseyside.

Bernes claimed that while "Liverpool's interest exists", the two clubs are yet to agree a deal for Fakir, who is expected to move for around £60 million.

Even still, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is going for "overkill", as French worldwide Fekir looks set for an Anfield move this transfer window, just a medical to go.

Now, the Reds are believed to be closing in on a deal to bring Fekir to Anfield.

Bad news for Liverpool fans who will have been getting excited at reports that the Fekir deal was all but done.

Liverpool have already moved quickly to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, with the £39million arrival of midfielder Fabinho from Monaco following on from the previously agreed £48million move for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita.

It was even suggested that a medical could take place if the discussion of the final details went well. We could do with a player like Fekir to help link our midfield and attack, which were disjointed last term, but it doesn't look like he'll be moving to Stamford Bridge, despite our reported interest. Fresh defensive options would likely spell the end of Daley Blind's career at United and The Sun reports Inter Milan has stepped up its interest in the Dutchman.
