First Man trailer: Ryan Gosling la la lands on the moon

"La La Land" made Chazelle the youngest best director victor in Academy Award history, which only sets the anticipation bar higher for the director's upcoming "First Man".

Fans received their first look at the clip during Friday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Ryan Gosling fills the role of Armstrong in the film, with Emmy-winning The Crown actress Claire Foy playing Armstrong's wife Janet.

Apart from the aforementioned cast, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Pablo Schreiber, Ciaran Hinds, Lukas Haas, Jason Clarke, and Christopher Abbott are on the roster. It was the first ever authorized biography of Neil Armstrong, and while other books had delved into his NASA missions, Fist Man was the first book to address both his early life, and his life after NASA as well.

The film will reportedly focus on Armstrong's life from 1961-1969.

In the amusing interview, Ryan appeared to be annoyed by the questions that Jimmy was asking. Armstrong steadfastly responds to questions of that nature by saying they were planning on the moon flight being successful.

"Space exploration changes your perception". She imagines her husband travelling 240,000 miles to land on the moon, telling her husband that it wasn't just another trip, adding that he isn't just "going to work".

"There are risks, but we have every intention of coming back", Armstrong tells his son in the preview.

Experience the impossible journey to the moon when First Man debuts on October 12.
