Trump Attacks LeBron James And Don Lemon In Latest Twitter Rant

Trump's offhand Twitter dig came in response to an interview between James and CNN's Don Lemon, which focused on an ambitious new public school James has founded in Akron.

LeBron James speaks at the opening ceremony for the I Promise School.

'Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. Lemon's chief offense was apparently making James look smart, which Trump said "wasn't easy to do".

The LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with Akron Public Schools to design the school for students in the area who come from hard circumstances.

Trump had expressed his displeasure with the interview on Twitter, insulting both Lemon and LeBron James.

James has also enjoyed support from Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, who tweeted Saturday: "It should be beneath the dignity of a sitting POTUS to take racist shots at D. Lemon and Lebron James".

Trump is traveling to OH on Saturday for a rally where he will campaign for state Sen. LeBron was discussing the school in the CNN interview on Friday that set off Donald Trump. He has continued to attack the players, who are protesting racial inequality and police brutality, tweeting in July that the "NFL National Anthem Debate is alive and well again". The basketball star recently opened an I Promise School for low income and at-risk kids in OH, inspired by his own upbringing. Trump puts children in cages, ' his colleague Joseph Flynn wrote.

The four-time NBA MVP, 33, branded the U.S. leader " a bum" after he rescinded an invitation for NBA champions the Golden State Warriors to visit the White House previous year, amid doubts over whether some players - including star man Stephen Curry - would attend. He has also been frequently critical of the president.

Asked later what he'd say if he ever found himself face-to-face with Trump, he replied: "I would never sit across from him". "Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!" "I don't want my future kids growing up in a world where two Black men, accomplished in their field, are called dumb because they disagree with your views".

CNN also interjected: "Sounds like @FLOTUS had the remote last night".

"Can't believe it!" Trump tweeted in July.

The tweet from CNN also included a reference to Melania's "Be Best" campaign, which was meant to curb cyberbullying.
