Stormy Daniels Had The Most Savage Response To Michael Cohen's Guilty Plea

There has been speculation that Manafort, who has maintained his innocence, may be hoping for a presidential pardon as a reward for his loyalty.

Davis made a flurry of morning TV appearances as the fallout from Tuesday's bombshell court cases involving two of the President's former aides continued to reverberate. "Mr. Cohen does lose his law license upon conviction, which technically does not occur until sentencing".

'I participated in this conduct with the goal of influencing the election, ' a visibly crestfallen Cohen told the judge - an admission that puts Trump himself in legal jeopardy.

Cohen is scheduled for sentencing on December 12 and his bail was set at $500,000.

Also on Twitter and in the Fox News interview, Trump falsely claimed that Cohen had admitted guilt to two counts of campaign finance violations that are "not a crime" - they are, in fact, felonies.

Despite Trump's defiant tone, Washington-based campaign finance expert Kate Belinski, of the Nossaman law firm, said to expect legal consequences for both Trump and his campaign - most likely in the form of a civil complaint before the Federal Election Commission.

In a round of media interviews, Davis suggested that Cohen has information that would be of interest to the special counsel and other law enforcement officials scrutinizing Trump, but he stopped short of offering details.

Sen. Michael Bennet, a Democrat from Colorado, said the Cohen situation is serious, but deflected questions about impeachment.

Cohen also pleaded guilty to knowingly and willfully making an excessive campaign contribution to Trump's campaign to influence the election. I think a lot of this stems from her courage and what she was willing to come forward and do.

Investors are considering whether the twin setback will hurt the Republican Party's election prospects and widen a criminal probe that has overshadowed Mr Trump's presidency.

Michael Cohen's lawyer was booed by Megyn Kelly's audience on Wednesday after he asked for donations to support his client. However, the charges against Manafort were not directly related to the 2016 presidential campaign.

The consistent targeting of Cohen's credibility might be driven by concern over what he knows.

Reports have also indicated that Michael Cohen is willing to meet with investigators from Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.

Cohen would be a prosecutor's "dream cooperator: one who had special insider access to the leader of a powerful, closed, corrupt organization", former prosecutors Mimi Rocah and Elie Honig wrote last month.

While Cohen did not name Mr Trump in court on Tuesday, referring to him as "the candidate", Mr Davis on Wednesday accused the President of being directly involved.

US President Donald Trump claimed Wednesday that hush payments made by his former lawyer before the 2016 election did not breach campaign finance rules.

A jury in Alexandria, Virginia, convicted Manafort on eight of the 18 tax- and bank-fraud charges on Tuesday.

Trump's response was to discredit Cohen - contrasting his actions with the "brave" Manafort. Manafort faces separate charges in September in the District of Columbia that include acting as a foreign agent.

The White House insisted Trump was not concerned "at all" that Cohen might implicate the U.S. president by cooperating with Mueller. Donald Trump has frequently denied any knowledge of the meeting, which has been at the heart of the investigation over whether Trump's team colluded with Russian Federation.
