India vs West Indies, 5th ODI

India vs West Indies, 5th ODI match will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.

India started off the five-match ODI series well with a dominant 8-wicket victory in the first match in Guwahati but then saw a slip in their performance in the second and third games in Vizag and Pune, respectively.

Since the World Cup win in 2011 at home, India have lost only two bilateral ODI series at home.

Rohit Sharma made an unbeaten 63 and captain Virat Kohli hit 33 as India chased down their target in 14.5 overs. "Credit has to go to the bowling unit, pitching the ball in the right place", Kohli said after the win.

The young bowler almost had his revenge though, as Holder, at first slip, failed to grab the catch offered by the man going through a Bradmanesque phase. Hetmyer was a touch late in bringing his bat down and hence the ball struck the front pad first. Hemraj is out, Oshane Thomas is in.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are expected to dismantle the Windies top order in the initial overs, while Khaleel Ahmad, who was a surprise package in Mumbai with figures of 3/13, could be a crucial support for his seniors. Bumrah bowled Shai Hope for zero.

The incident occurred in the 16th over of first innings.

Skipper Jason Holder top-scored with 25 to raise hopes of a West Indies fightback but the rest of the batting folded. Jason Holder fought a lone battle for some time before being dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed.

After having clinched the ODI series against the West Indies, India end the year 2018 as the most successful team in ODIs. Whenever I come on the field, I just try to give my best. West Indies will try its best to level the series while India would like to win and wrap up the series.

Along with another T20 stalwart Kieron Pollard and five others, Brathwaite trained hard with the first T20 worldwide against India starting November 4.
