LeBron James Not Fazed By Franchise-Worst First Quarter Vs. Raptors

LeBron James was frank with the assessment of his Los Angeles Lakers team after taking a 121-107 beatdown at the hands of the East-leading Toronto Raptors on Sunday night.

The game's top scorer was Serge Ibaka, who put up a career-high 34 points, having his way against any and all of the Lakers' interior defenders.

"They just came out and hit us right in the mouth". At the point of attack we allowed them to get where they wanted to go however they wanted to go to start the game.

"It's going to be very, very hard to make a game out of that when you're trying to expend so much energy trying to get back in it".

"I don't really like to talk about it being disappointing". "We got a W, and I'm happier now than scoring a lot of points [in a loss]". Toronto jumped out to a 40-10 first quarter lead, and cruised to victory. "And my experience, unfortunately, most of the time that the player like Kawhi sits out, that team ends up winning or at least goes on a hell of a run".

James finished with just 18 points.

On the back of 24 points from Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers narrowed Toronto's advantage after the nightmare start.

Leonard missed the game with a sore left foot which no doubt had the Lakers breathing a sigh of relief.

The Lakers followed up perhaps their best win of the season on Saturday with one of the worst first quarters in franchise history on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with a triple double as the Milwaukee Bucks continued their best National Basketball Association start to a season by dominating the Sacramento Kings 144-109.

Ahead of tonight's contest, the fourth-year man had averaged 5.5 points per game and 2.2 rebounds over 16.3 minutes this season.

In New York, D'Angelo Russell scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half, and the Brooklyn Nets kept the Philadelphia 76ers winless on the road with a 122-97 win.
