Quebec City chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy backed the American counter-tenor Anthony Roth Costanzo on ARC, nominated as one of the year's best classical solo vocal albums.

The nominees for the 2019 Grammys mark a departure from this year's show, where women were under-represented in the top four categories.

"The Album, Music From and Inspired By" is up for Album of the Year".

Among the list of Grammy nominees for Best Reggae Album is singer Etana for her work, Reggae Forever and Protoje, for his project, A Matter of Time. Or how about Drake just becoming the number one selling artist in the USA of all-time according to RIAA. His "God's Plan" producer Matthew "Boi-1da" Samuels got 6 nominations. Cardi's "I Like It" gained a Record of the Year nod.

Lady Gaga's nominations came mostly from her single "Shallow" with actor-director Bradley Cooper from their movie A Star is Born, which won five Golden Globe nods on Thursday.

- Best pop vocal album: "Camila", Camila Cabello; "Meaning of Life", Kelly Clarkson; "Sweetener", Ariana Grande; "Shawn Mendes", Shawn Mendes; "Beautiful Trauma", Pink; "Reputation", Taylor Swift.

Mac Miller, who died in September, earned a nomination for best rap album with "Swimming". The only problem is now that the nominations have been announced, people are coming after Drake saying he doesn't deserve it.
