'SNL' Imagined The World Without President Trump, And 'It's A Wonderful Life'

Alec Baldwin returned to his role as Trump in a sketch parody of "It's A Wonderful Life" for the "SNL" Christmas episode this weekend. Trump tweeted at the time. Trump wrote that the show was a "Democrat spin machine" and asked if it was legal.

It comes after SNL did a take on the film "It's a Wonderful Life" which imagined a world where Trump wasn't president.

"SNL" cast members played members of Trump's cabinet, with Sarah Sanders doing public relations for Facebook in the alternate timeline and Vice President Mike Pence getting a post-politics job as a DJ.

President Donald Trump has publicly called for authorities to investigate primetime comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live over its humorous depictions of his presidency, but the Republican leader has inspired countless satirical portrayals across the globe as well. When Trump's guardian angel Clarence appears, he gives Trump a tour of what could have been if he had never become president.

"I'll see you tomorrow at the opening of Trump Tower Moscow", Cohen gleefully blurts out before exiting.

"It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem (ocrat) commercials".

Trump hosted SNL in November 2015, just five months after announcing his bid for president.

"I dare say that as the weeks progress, there are people who voted for Trump and they're not quite sure what they've gotten us into.
Collusion?" the real Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Needless to say, things turned out to be a lot better for everyone - including Trump himself! Matt Damon also made an appearance again as Brett Kavanaugh, who is free to party as much as he likes now that he is not a Supreme Court Justice.

Earlier this year, he tweeted of "SNL" and Baldwin: "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his bad impersonation of me on 'SNL, ' now says playing me was agony".
