Alex Ferguson "back in business" at Man United

Sir Alex Ferguson is back working for Manchester United as a consultant in a bid to restore the club's glory days.

But ahead of what is sure to be a hero's welcome when he leads United for the first time on home turf against Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day, Solskjaer insists he expects the same treatment. I really believe that. I've sat next to him in a dressing room for 11 years.

"We're not too focused on the other teams' scorelines at the moment". It comes with a responsibility.

"Seeing the way we played, I don't see why we can't if we keep playing like that".

"It's about getting the players back on board - not that you should have to get players back on board as they should have pride in themselves".

According to The Sun, ex-United player Solskjaer will plan regular contact with Ferguson which is something his predecessor chose not to do.

Speaking to United's official website after the victory at Cardiff, Shaw said: "As a Man United team, we always try to play quickly, no matter what manager it is or who it's with".

"It's not going to happen every game that you create chances like we did today, you've got to go and grind it out".

"He's talking about implementing his principles in the team which I think will take time". So why should we stop them?

"We're Man United and that's what we're known for". That's tradition, that's history and that's how we play.

A good work ethic should be the minimum required of a Manchester United team, but Mourinho's tactics also didn't help his side's running statistics.

"There's a very long way to go and we need to focus on how to catch up". He's the boss and if there's anyone who can give me proper advice - not my team-mates! - that's him.
