UFC 232: Amanda Nunes KOs Cris Cyborg In 51 Seconds

UFC fighters are speaking after a stunning night of action at UFC 232 in California, which saw Jon Jones return to claim the light-heavyweight title and Amanda Nunes become the first ever female double champion. Nunes eventually knocked down Justino twice, and she the fight spectacularly with an overhand right to the ear, putting Justino face-down on the canvas.

The 30-year-old sent her dazed compatriot crashing to the mat as she scored a superb knockout victory in just 51 seconds, before crying tears of joy after becoming just the third UFC fighter to hold titles in two weight divisions simultaneously. "I get hit in the head and I know she wouldn't knock me out".

"In the first fight, I stayed in his punching range", said Jones, who worked heavily on his boxing during his most recent suspension.

Jones defeated Sweden's Alexander Gustafsson on his return to the octagon following a 17-month absence, reclaiming the title he had been stripped of a year ago.

"Yeah, for sure", Nunes said when asked if she thought the fight would play out the way it did.

Her victory over Cyborg comes two years after defeating Rousey at UFC 207, which led to Rousey leaving MMA and transitioning into her current career as a professional wrestler.

"I mean, what guy just gives up his belt because somebody else made it home?"

Yes, Nunes really is the female G.O.A.T., despite how short of a history women have had in the sport's biggest promotion.

During the post-fight interview at UFC 232, Jon Jones called out Daniel Cormier and mocked him for relinquishing the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Nothing was going to stop me.

"I know there is a guy who has been calling himself Champ Champ", Jones said.

'[The] Belt for me has always been symbolic, the most important is to be a champion in the lives of people making a difference in this world!

"Come get a taste, I'm here". They get right down to the wire, and I think Vince throws so much money at him that he goes "alright, I'll do it again".

Cris Cyborg drops to 20-2, 1 NC MMA, 5-1 UFC, Amanda Nunes improves the score to 17-4 MMA, 10-1 UFC.
