The Pacers also remain involved in discussions to acquire Conley, The Athletic reported Wednesday.

It is a power move for Toronto, as it looks to improve its roster as it vies with Philadelphia and Milwaukee, among others, in the Eastern Conference.

The 6ft 10in Mirotic is averaging 16.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds, both career highs, in 32 games.

Gasol took home the award after the 2013 season.

Kyle Lowry appears to be one of those players, but the Raptors starting point guard is taking everything in stride.

Gasol is slated to make $24.1 million USA this season and has a player option for $25.6 million next season.

The Clippers also waived center Marcin Gortat, who averaged 5.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in 47 games.

Valanciunas, who had missed the last 25 games for the Raptors, was scheduled to return to the lineup tonight against the Atlanta Hawks before the trade was announced.

Miles, in his 14th campaign, has struggled with the Raptors this season.

According to NBA.com, Gasol is generating 3.4 points per game in the post this season - roughly a quarter of his scoring - putting him behind 10 players for most in the league.

Most notably, the 34-year-old big man will be a strong defensive presence for the Raptors.
