Meghan Markle’s Friends Fear ‘Emotional Trauma’ Can Affect Her Baby

Friends of the Duchess of Sussex say that she has begged her father to stop "victimising" her in the media.

Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle attended an awards ceremony on Thursday evening for the Endeavour Fund, which supports the physical and mental recovery of injured and sick servicemen and women.

The article claimed that Meghan, 37, had no relationship with her half-siblings and that she and Prince Harry tried to mend her relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, from whom she's been estranged since he missed the royal wedding in May 2018.

The evening, held at Draper's Hall in London, was hosted by British actor Ross Kemp. The friend - one of five who spoke to PEOPLE on condition of anonymity - has visited the Californian at Nottingham Cottage, the home she shares with Prince Harry.

Meghan's former co-star added: "When you see her at walkabouts, when she crouches down to talk to the kids and genuinely has real conversations with people, that's Meg".

Just hours after People magazine printed bombshell claims from Meghan Markle's friends that she hadn't "ghosted" her father, Samantha retaliated in a series of bitter tweets. Meghan lived with him for several years as a child but he has since been a distant figure in her life. (Later) Meg heard he had a heart attack and she's calling and texting, even up to the night before the wedding. I'm telling you I don't want to communicate through the media, and you're asking me to communicate through the media.

"So they can understand and empathise, we've all looked at this and thought goodness me this is unfortunate, it's playing out in the media". She's like, 'Dad, I'm so heartbroken.

And they've not let Meghan's pregnancy slow them down at all in their royal duties, as they made a joint appearance just days ago in the English town of Bristol.

In the letter, the pregnant duchess reportedly wrote: "I have one father. Did you hear anything I said?' It's nearly like they're ships passing". It's small and she's made it cosy, but the perception of their lifestyle and reality are two different things. "Meg cooks for herself and Harry every single day". If we don't have hope, what have we got?I've learnt more from working with children than I have doing anything else, I've learnt more humility, and forgiveness for life really. They said he has never tried to get in touch, and her private number has never changed.
