Respawn's 'Apex Legends' Reached 2.5 Million Unique Players In Just 24 Hours

Apex Legends launched as an online Battle Royale game but does the game have a Single Player mode? Apex Legends has been designed by creators of the acclaimed Titanfall franchise and this fact alone happened to attract first-person-shooter and Titanfall lovers. Not only that, but Apex Legends has had a record of 1 million concurrent players at its peak. Flash in the pan games are not that uncommon and with an already crowded battle royale market, EA and Respawn will need to prove it can go beyond that milestone. However this changes with Apex Legends which did not launch with a single player campaign.

Fortune reports that the state's General Assembly is considering a bill that would add a 10 percent tax to any game that's been given the ESRB's AO (adults only) or M rating, reviving a measure sponsored by Rep. Christopher B. Quinn (R) that died in committee past year. Of course, Smash was $60 and Apex Legends is free, so it's tough to compare them directly.

Showing Respawn's pedigree as a team of creatives who clearly game regularly themselves, we've got shakeups to the battle royale formula like respawns and finishers, right next to Titanfall-aping gunplay and knee slides keeping locomotion fresh. The bottom one shows us in a standard game getting to grips with things on PC, but in the two above you can see us getting the win with both Bangalore and Lifeline, two very different Legends that offer their own styles of play.

It doesn't appear that EA games are down on other platforms, such as PS4 and Xbox One.
