Kelly back in custody after appearing in court for child support case

R. Kelly spoke what he is calling his truth during an interview with CBS Wednesday morning, and it has people talking.

In the bowels of the downtown courthouse, Kelly was taken out the back of the courtroom with his hands behind his back.

It was not immediately clear why Kelly was taken into custody, and whether it had to do with the unpaid child support he owes.

Singer R. Kelly arrives at the Daley Center for his hearing on March 6, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois. The Cook County Sheriff's Office revealed that Kelly will have to pay the full amount before he can be released from jail. Judge Lori Rosen on February 6 ordered Kelly be jailed unless he paid the bulk of the $194,000 he owed for child support, accrued interest, and educational expenses.

The 52-year-old singer, who has faced repeated sexual misconduct allegations over the course of at least two decades, denied the accusations that he has held women against their will during his interview with King.

Kelly spent three nights in jail last month after being arrested on the criminal sex abuse charges. "Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me", Kelly said. Quit playing! I didn't do this stuff! Kelly's publicist, Darryll Johnson added that Kelly was unable to pay the whole debt because his other legal troubles have prevented him from working. Cook County prosecutors allege he abused four victims, three of them underage girls, over a span of 12 years. Kelly says "all of them are lying".

The R&B singer says he's done "lots of things wrong" when it comes to women, but he says he's apologized. When King asked Kelly if he has held women against their will, he replied: "That's stupid!"

Gayle King sat down with Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, two women who've been called R. Kelly's live-in girlfriends, and one of them accused their parents of creating lies for money.

Savage's lawyer on Wednesday also disputed Kelly's assertions that they had handed over or sold Jocelyn.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse that he faces.

- A woman claims that R. Kelly had sex with her in Detroit in the early 2000s when she was just 13.

The young woman also said she stopped speaking to her parents because they've been causing "problems in her life" by saying Kelly is keeping her hostage.

"Why would you take your daughter - if I were gonna take my daughter, and she were 19 years old, to a 49-year-old ..."

The singer believes social media is to blame for creating the allegations against him.

"Use your common sense".

CBS says it interviewed Kelly for 80 minutes.

"I don't need to".
