Antonio Brown teases announcement of next team on Instagram

According to Buffalo News, few stories have made more headlines than the deal that ultimately never was.

The Steelers and Raiders have reached a verbal agreement for Antonio Brown to be traded to Oakland in exchange for a third- and fifth-round pick in this April's draft, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. But that's assuming there's a team willing to take a leap of faith on Brown, who has cut off communication this offseason with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, himself a Super Bowl-winning quarterback on a contending team.

And it's just as well - after all, Buffalo is basically outer Siberia in the football world, and the team has left much to be desired for years.

We don't dive into unsubstantiated rumors here but when it starts to circulate that Brown wants a new contract with his new team in the $18-$20 million per year range it gives us pause.

In fact, Brown even said that if the deal would have gone through, he wouldn't have spent a single day on the field for the team.

After NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the news of the two sides finalizing a deal, he addressed the topic hours later when things had fallen apart.

Antonio Brown wanted a trade out of Pittsburgh. Brown stated that he was going to announce his new team shortly.

Antonio Brown posted on Instagram appearing to indicate that he is a member of the Raiders, and Mike Florio has confirmed that the wide receiver is indeed heading to the Silver and Black. On Thursday night, it seemed Brown could be on his way to the Buffalo Bills, but things didn't pan out.
