Facebook Down: Users Reporting Widespread Problems On Site And Instagram

Facebook has since responded to the issues on Twitter (ironic), saying that they are working to resolve the problems at hand.

We know. Our @facebook and @instagram haven't been working either. In Israel, users could access Facebook normally by late Wednesday night, although many features, such as posting for some users, were unavailable.

Users wanted to post photos to the app but were unable to.

Facebook shared on Twitter Wednesday just before 1 p.m. that they are experiencing a wide-spread issue impacting users' ability to post and share.

An hour later, the company confirmed that its problem wasn't related to a DDoS attack.

It is showing outages in the United States, Europe, Japan, Manila, Australia and New Zealand. Some Facebook users created new profiles on the network to keep abreast, while others logged into accounts that are generally dormant.

People reported having trouble loading the website and sending emails.

According to outage tracking website DownDetector, problems began to be reported by people unable to access the sites from about 1am NZT.

As for Facebook, The Verge reports that their ad section wasn't working. Even attempting to access the Facebook front page pops up an error, and it's not entirely clear how long Facebook and Instagram may be down for.

Facebook users, including brand marketers, expressed their outrage on Twitter with the #facebookdown hashtag. A report from IsitDownrRghtNow.com, a web traffic monitoring site, is reporting that the social media giant is "DOWN for everyone".
